Ouch..!! Fair play to the lads who faced that!
Played against a vets team many years ago..my team mates all saw these senior statesmen & thought we'd already won - ended up getting spanked 10-0, which was somewhat of a lesson!

Something similar happened to a team I played for years ago. Needing a win to finish in the top two and going for automatic promotion, we turned up, they laughed at us.
14-1 (30 seconds from a first clean sheet of the season for me!) and the league recorded us as the losing side. Cue an appeal lodged with the league. Needless to say, we went on to win the league that year.
But that is a truly awful story when you actually read it. The manager walked and so did most of the squad. Fair do's to the boys who did turn up. I bet their pride is still a little sore after that!
