The January Transfer window

Is it a yay or nay for people?
I mean if you're a palace fan you might be gritting your teeth and hoping now things will come good but if you're a Fulham fan you might think you're a bit on the screwed side.
Personally I sodding hate the January window. I'd be happy for an open continuous loan/free agent window (and not a loan with a view to buy Dwight Gayle crap) and no January window at all.
