54. Southport (should have been Dagenham & Redbridge)SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Hope Southport do draw Man United away cos that would mean we would not have as we would have been a diffrent number
No 1 to 44 is alphabetical for Premier League and Championship teams. The rest are in the order of the 2nd road draw, so we'd have had the same number as Southport.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:Hope Southport do draw Man United away cos that would mean we would not have as we would have been a diffrent number

Oh thanks for explaining that ,anyway no good crying over spilt milk.
See another bloody late goal left us in limbo for January 3rd. Hopefully Luton can finish the Job in the replay as was rather looking forward to seeing Bury again, who I'm my opinion with Shrewsbury are the best footballing side I have seen this season.
At the moment they appear to have a problem in front of goal and we could do without them being able to pay attention to this area in the Transfer window.

The milk spilt so far is worth £45k in prize money and now a share of a 20,000 or so gate and a day out at Pride Park.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:no good crying over spilt milk.
Oops missed off the £12,500 we would have got for being one of the Sunday games featured on "BBC One’s FA Cup Final Score programme with Jason Mohammed" against Eastleigh.
Still, never mind eh.
No crying from me... until the manager trots out the 'we have the smallest budget in the league' excuse next time we go four or five without a win... we couldn't have asked for more than a poor non-league team in the first round and similar in the second... bottled it big timeMike the Dagger wrote:The milk spilt so far is worth £45k in prize money and now a share of a 20,000 or so gate and a day out at Pride Park.SUSSEX DAGGER wrote:no good crying over spilt milk.

The main attraction of the Fa Cup is the smaller team beating the bigger team so it makes little sense to be bleating when it happens. In this case to us.
It was hardly planned or wanted
Two weeks later would probably have been a different story

It should still never have happened though and in the context of what else was going on with regards to our form, it ought to have been the final straw for Burnett.lupins wrote:The main attraction of the Fa Cup is the smaller team beating the bigger team so it makes little sense to be bleating when it happens. Southport didn't even seem particularly up for it and we never put them under any particular pressure in either game, losing it with Howell's dopey red card.
£60k plus down the plug hole, and us struggling along on the third smallest budget in the league (or maybe the smallest, but definitely one of the smallest).
We didn't just los to the lower ranked team as a suprise though... we played them twice, home and away and failed to score a goal in either game... it wasn't a shock free kick or corner after we dominated them or a last minute winner on the breaklupins wrote:The main attraction of the Fa Cup is the smaller team beating the bigger team so it makes little sense to be bleating when it happens.
