How did Shields get on? No mention of him in the comments on the Daggers website

Poor tackle, to say the least, from Howell although the people in front insisted he got the ball, despite it going off in one direction and Howells tackle flying in from the opposite.

Jones was by far the liveliest Dagenham player out there. Shields put in a decent stint as well.

They scored a good free kick although O'Brien did give him the whole goal to aim at.

Shields done alright, nothing exceptional but not bad, he played centre mid alongside Howell. Murphy didn't look sharp at all and Doidge wasn't on the same wavelength as others. Partridge was no different to usual, bit clumsy but was ok. Green played CB and dealt with any long balls on his head, but when the ball was on the ground he struggled, lucky not to pick up a yellow in the first half which would have seen him sent off eventually as he picked one up in the second half. Porter looked better when he went over to the left in the second half and won both penalties (the first was outside the box though), he put in a couple of good balls, also hit the post first half. Oh, and O'Brien was beaten by another free kick..

The youth player Jodi Jones was excellent, looked nervous first couple of minutes, then got a few touches and came alive, goal was brilliant and he hit the crossbar with another shot, if that's the sort of player we have in the youth team then we've got a bright future. The other youth player that started, Olukoga, he was a bit shaky with his passes but done well enough and looked better when Jones came over to his side, you could see they play together regularly.

Really don't know what's happened to Connors he was absolutely awful, last season he'd take on his opponent to try and get a cross in, now, he either stops and passes backwards or attempts to take his man on and gets tackled up the pitch leaving a big gap behind him. When Howell got sent off, Connors went into midfield and did look a lot more comfortable, but still gets caught out by someone bigger than him.

Bit long, but that's it
