Just a week till the fixtures come out, so in the meantime was thinking about my favourite ever goals from The World Cup.

1. Carlos Alberto : Brazil v Italy 1970 "Sheer delightful football"
2. Maradona : Argentina v England 1986 - The feet of God!
3. Dennis Bergkamp : Holland v Argentina 1998 - Poetry in Motion

Marco Tardelli : Italy v Brazil 1982
The most wonderful goal celebrations I've ever seen, running back away from the opposition with wonderful emotion, played it over so many times!
Johann Cruyff : Holland v Brazil 1974
Without doubt the most skilful European player of all time, he left defenders tied in awe at the speed and dribbling skills he possessed, and he was the star in this WC.
Our man Geoff Hurst (How could we forget) : England v West Germany 1966
'Some people are on the pitch............' Our finest hour! Could we do it again?? What about it Roy???

Socrates and Eder Brazil v USSR Spain 1982..

The greatest team in my opinion to ever set foot on a pitch. They were a joy to watch going forward and it was a travesty they never won the 1982 World Cup.

Cambiasso v Serbia 2010 - football completed. Simple.

Joe cole v Sweden 2006 - quite simply the best england goal I've ever seen.

Fabio Grosso v Germany 2006 - a fitting way to end one of the great games.
