Ebbsfleet / Today’s team /Match

i know mullins scored today but i cant understand why we’d take someone not good enough for maidstone. its as though Peter Taylor saw that 6ft 5 player Denton the other week and thought ‘that’s what we need’

I’m now seriously worried we will get relegated. The team don’t seem good enough and some
of the tactics poor. How many free headers did we give away? How many times on the rebound did we have no one on the halfway line?

Ebbsfleet were nothing special but we could have easily lost 6-1.

Something has got to change. Maybe it is time for the new owners to start spending money before it is too late.

And do something before we haemorrhage any more home fans. 999 home fans. Time to call in the emergency services!

I have been supporting/going to Dagenham for over 40yrs, and I can honestly say this is the worst team I have ever seen. We have ONE move and we can't do that. 999 home fans and more than half left before the end. Shame.

I told you lot, he isn't a manager. And that we need a proper man in charge, and got told by the diehards it was only so many games in and that it didn't take long to be on his back, blah blah, blah. Not to mention the old chestnut, he's worked wonders with the constraints he's been under. Absolute bollocks, he's a coach, not a manager, big difference.
And the Yanks will hopefully out him soon, they don't like failure and as a manager he's right up there with the worst. If some on here can't see it then perhaps they deserve what they get. And that goes for sussex who seems to wallow in defeat.
Give him money to spend and this team will sink without trace. FACT!!!
No room in this game for sentiment, you had a go Peter, it didn't work, bye bye.

Don't think its a fact we would sink without trace do you honestly?
With this team we go down. I went to 1st game this season and was shocked not just on the pitch but ****** me that was boring. Same Richards shouting abuse at players. That anoying voice from near middle of sieve moaning at every opportunity. Not once gave any credit to anybody.
Looked far better second half until sending off. Ref rubbish dubious pen at best but never a sending off.
We was beaten by a decent side today they be top 5 i reckon.
Ps call yourself fans pffft

Agree with mickyblue....Ebbsfleet are a much better team, our lot are inexperienced bar one or two what do you expect. I'm not seeing any lack of effort and although I still think we might be relegated at least we're having a go. .

Why is he leaving out Hoyte ?
Romain is our best player by far.

The gates will fall if we don't improve, I was quite bored early on, I didn't think we'd ever score and you knew we wouldn't win as soon as ebbsfleet scored in the 5 th minute.
If it's any consolation there were at least a 1000 daggers today as I got in for free as a carer today. You don't go thru the turnstiles if you're a carer.

One game and you're an expert, very good.
Same old lines, we lost to a decent side today, and last week and most of the season, yawn.
Tell me if you're an investor would you stick around While your team get relegated, and attendances drop like a brick?
Our attendances are made up of the older generation and therefore would watch them over the park on a Sunday if need be, younger fans won't be encouraged to watch tripe every week, so twenty years from now when the diehards are gone, who'll be following Dagenham then?
This is an opportunity for this club to at least become at least a regular league 2 side, maybe league 1 at a push, but we have to stay up. We won't under Taylor.

Sadly I have to agree with every word of Stantons

That's three on the trot, maybe the penalty scored on the first we could have got a result, second game blew out on defending errors and was the Solihull goalkeeper tested? Learn from it? no sadly not, today the third it was really awful viewing, without Justham's heroics we could have been truly spanked for a four or five, I'm totally fed up of watching the same mistakes that just don't seem to get rectified, were heading for the South and its bloody painful to watch. Don't think I want to hear this 'unexperienced side' as an excuse anymore, this team hasn't changed too much from day one, and in Salford and Barrow games I saw fighters in there amongst them, it can be done!

Laughable that the shout for the Americans to sack Taylor, they agreed to the transfer of the cart horse that scored today. God help us.

This was a complete rebuild of a squad and I think it’s been a fairly decent job but you can’t make gold out of dog shite. With this team we will be relegated, I said this to a few others after the Hartlepool game no lacking effort but they are not good enough. Number 7 for us probably top five worst players I have ever seen.

Today’s game Ebbsfleet could have had 4 the first 20 mins, 3-1 flattered us massively had it not been for Justham.

Gateshead Away I’m getting so drunk I can’t see it.

It is almost as previous months efforts have been thwarted after the news that the clubs finances are secure. Players and management have taken their foot of the gas maybe thinking their jobs and contracts are secure.

IMO this group of players will not survive this league. Yes, the playing side of the club has been pretty shite for the last few years but we have always had at least one or two shining lights. Says a lot that we lost 3-1 and our goalkeeper was awarded man of the match, who else was in contention?

Harsh I may be but we have the dregs of a playing squad which needs to drastically be changed by the Americans, and quickly, if we are to stay in this league let alone progress any further.

I've no idea why the manager has changed it up so much today. Yeah we've lost a couple but started very well at Eastleigh. We are crap with 3 at the back and I'm afraid that Davey is quite a poor defender on viewings so far. Bringing him and McQueen in to our defence is madness for me. Having said that he hasn't made too many big mistakes this season.

In the summer I don't think he had much choice with the squad. Some of these loans are free and the players he had to sign were the ones nobody else wanted. There's a few who haven't come off and some that have but I'm not sure what else he could've done. I expected us to go down and was relatively comfortable with it as our budget was tiny. At least we gave each game a good go.

Trouble is now we apparently have some cash and it's coupled with two woeful performances on the bounce. You get to a point where exuberance runs out a bit and we aren't going to beat anyone unless we are running at absolutely 100%. I think we may take a few hidings now unless the manager can pick them up, but he certainly needs to go back to a back 4 with Hoyte in.

Couldn’t make game yesterday and won’t make next home game due to family commitments, but people have to be realistic: as Mark said, we started the season with a squad that was always going to struggle to stay up. Those players haven’t improved because we have a photo of Tim Howard holding a Daggers shirt.

What we need to know is what our new investors plan is. Is it a relatively small investment that means we are still looking at cast offs, or can we afford some transfer fees and increased wages?

We were poor yesterday, no question, aside from the very latter stages of the first half and up until the red card we simply did not perform.

Albeit he scored the jury will still be out on Mullings, on more then one occasion yesterday I was reminded of Rob Edmunds. No one is calling into question the effort of this team. Yet it is clear that we do need more.

Ebbsfleet were one the better teams I've seen so far this year, causing problems in all areas of the pitch for us, on that performance, if they fail to make the playoffs I'd be surprised. So does that mean we can take something from our performance then? We've played better, and we know we can too. I'd like to see changes made, particularly in defence, as we had seem to have shorn it up, yet the past two games tell a different story.

McQueen seems to call for the ball quite a fare bit and seems to expect a Messi-esque pass to his feet, yet he's not making the runs for the ball, which only serves us by loosing possession.

I just don’t understand what’s happened to us. At the beginning of this season we were losing, but losing narrowly, and arguably, undeservedly. We then put a bit of a run together and start to get the rub of the green we needed, a takeover occurs and the club looks to be in an amazing position. Straight after that we start to play shite and look like a team doomed to be nailed to 24th for the majority of the season. Yesterday was an absolute shambles and we never looked like winning or getting a point- barring a brief 5 mins on either side of half time.

I like Taylor and I’m not calling for his head, but his tactics yesterday were just so very wrong. Why do we insist on using McQueen as a defender when he so clearly isn’t? Why take off Gordon? Why do we play with wingbacks and then turn to route 1? After the red card we started to pass the ball around more and we was actually kind of good at it! Why not do that from the start? I don’t want Taylor gone but if I start to see more of yesterday then I can see that changing quickly for me, which is sad because I really do like him and what he stands for in the game.

The club needs to start using some of the money and connections we seemingly now have. We need 2 more centre midfielders (if Munns and Bellamy don’t turn into much) as Robinson (who I think has been one of our better players) is getting run ragged. He needs support. We also need another winger as Reynolds just isn’t up to scratch. An experienced bastard of a centreback would also be very welcome. Mullins didn’t look up to much yesterday despite the goal, but I won’t fully write him off yet. However we can’t be signing cast-offs from Maidstone if we want to stay up. We are all very wary of rushing into spending money, and quite rightly too as it’s screwed us over before. But ultimately if we are going to stay up then that’s what we will need to do.
