I will move from my usual spot to the drum area for a sing song today, let get behind the boys today and make an atmosphere for any floaters to perhaps take advantage of the season ticket deal. A win would help too.

I just worry when we get outsung and outnumbered at these high attendance home games,we have a habit of getting intimidated and lose. This mob toaday really do make some noise, drums and trumpets and 1500+ singing that irritating Hi Ho Pompey song, sounds like a knackered Big Ben.A nice little 5-0 home win and Thommo will be on overtime tonight flogging ST's to the converted. We'll probably need a police escort out of our own ground if that happens.****** em !! Come on you Daggers !!!

Cant wait for this game.. absolutely buzzing!

Atmosphere should be blinding from both sets of fans. Just please for once can someone else, other than that absolute alcoholic or special needs richard play our drum (im not volunteering BTW)
Come on RussP.. your club needs you!! :D

thought we made some noise considering what crap we had to put up with in 1st 20 mins.
game should of been over by 30 with us 3-0 down easily.
but we finished 9th!

sing when we're winning, you only sing when we're winning,

Thought yesterday was prime for a few choice songs regardless of the score, and I'm sad that the sieve seems more like a library these days. There was more noise coming from the Carling Stand.

And if anyone comments they don't have anything to sing about... We were no 1 favourites for relegation this season.

Im going to choose my words carefully here.Perhaps if we didn't give the drum to a person who clearly cant drum and moved him off to the Bury road End with some matches to play with instead we might have at least had a decent rhythm section.I think there is a good case for singing when theres something to sing about though Merge. There was a funny chant we did yesterday in response to Pompey singing "We've got more fans than you " we promptly replied with "We've got more money than you" albeit not the loudest song ive ever been in the middle of.I think the conceding of a 3rd minute goal always kills the home crowd stone dead wherever you go.

Agree with Arnu.
As l said in my earlier post in the thread, id rather no drum at all than richard.
Look, im sure hes a lovely boy but in all the time ive been going daggers he was only ever seen behind the bur road goal running up and down the terrace aimlessly talking and shouting to himself. Clearly not quite right n perhaps playing the drum gives him some importance in life but hes not what we need to get the sieve back rocking again.
Oh n yeah, going behind so early n having to watch the away team totally rip us a new one hardly helped the situation either!

I actually didn't hear the "we've got more money than you" chant, and I was in the sieve, so it was extremely quiet or I'm going deaf. Doubt I'm going deaf at 18 lol

But yeah, i can't be bothered to sing at home games. Doesn't help when we concede early as you said. And please someone with a few brain cells take the drum and do something, if not burn it.

most of the singers moved towards the pompey fans in the sieve.
i couldnt hear any songs from carling at all

poor drummer's take so much stick either ian or richard deserve more credit 4 having a go. i doubt any of the moaners on here could bang it in tune either.
i agree that we need a decent drummer but belittling people wont help the cause 1 little bit.

pretty sure 1st half we (about 20) gave them some songs and banter, it did die down after about 60 mins tho and cannot blame anybody but the team 4 that
but we finished 9th!

Pretty much what mickey said.

we got some songs going and had a bit of fun back and forth with the pompey fans. If anything there was more singing last saturday than most of the season.

Also, i agree, we should be singing our hearts out this season. we were everyones relegation favourites and we're going to finish mid table with a new manager. this has been a GOOD season. ok maybe not as good as the year we went up but compared to the last 2?

after 3 seasons of dwindling atmosphere i think we've given ourselves the west ham situation "Not winning yet? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and the players know it and probably rush trying to get a goal. 'Cause lord knows you never hear much when we're at 0-0.

and this from the same fans that packed out the away end at London Road and sang for 90mins while at the wrong end of a 5-0 drubbing that saw us relegated?

seems some people left their voices in league 1.

Think some of the comments made about the lads who at least have a go are just plain nasty and frankly uncalled for

Last Saturday at Wycombe we had a bit of noise going and comments were made about Ian on the drum, all it did was demoralise everybody and from that moment on there appeared nothing. One Supporter made his feelings known about the comments that were made and fully agreed when he suggested that at least he was having a go.

One thing I do notice is that those who at least give it a go at away matches are often miles apart at home games .

Perhaps we should all meet up one match for a much needed bit of choir practice.

Next season The Milky One plus a couple more of my friends will have ST's, so hopefully more voices.

I think there is a group of people who want to sing but don't wanna start it (we all know that "on me own" feeling) so a few more voices and hopefully things can pick up.

We should definitely all stand together, rather than our usual spots.. I felt like it was me and 10 others singing on Saturday, battling against 1,300 Pompey fans. It felt embarrassing at times.
