Does anyone remember the fanzine that was produced when we amalgamated, I  have 8 copies in the loft, can't remember who produced it and why it stopped, it was a great read, must have been the 93-94 95 season, can anyone enlighten me, I need cheering up after that crap today on the telly, lack of effort.

So after the merger I believe for a couple of years there wads C'Mon Daggers Use Your Forwards.

Then around 2000/2001 there was Just A Pub Team From Essex I believe, which the great Mad Tone Broughton was involved in??

Come on Dagenham use your forwards was pre-merger from the Dagenham side. It was brilliant and I still have copies. That is where both the accounts of Dagenham FC and Redbridge Forest FC were laid out side by side with commentary.

Come on Daggers are the ones I have, they were a fantastic read going to away games! Shame we don't have them now, take a lot of time to do, I was listening to a programme on talk sport last night about how Fanzines are no more, its all on social media!

Like to know if the bloke who wrote these is still a dagger!

Some clubs do still do them.

I was at a West Ham game the other week and they were on sale outside and a good mate of mine, who comes to the Daggers but is also a big QPR fan still gets the Rangers fanzine and passed them on to me for a read. They do their one once a month now I think.

Like big terraces, atmospheres, pin badges and Dagenham league wins, they are now generally a thing of the past though.

Ha ha, I am not sure I would have the wit or imagination for the kind of articles you need in these things. My boring, serious and grumpy approach would put readers off I think.

Ian Levene and Derek Robinson both left at the time of the merger. I believe one or both now support Romford.

Ian Levene, passed away a couple of years ago(thats what someone told me) , he was absolutly against the merger, aggressive, but he loved Dagenham. Wouldn't set foot in the ground after the merger.

The most recent fanzine was Tony Broughton's one. Was always a good read.

I admit the internet has changed the format of distribution of fanzines but I'd love them back, big part of me going to footie and many many others in 80's up to noughties, great read for a quid on way home and well after, I hear they are much still part of the parcel at higher clubs grounds, changing the format slightly I notice most games like ours on Saturday Sutton tie in with Frickr and do some good colour slides of the matches, view via their Amber Planet forum, they're not a big set up like ours but things like this are very enjoyable to view and would be nice at daggers too.
