Sorry, but he repeatedly lost the ball and looked out of his depth.
He's young so hopefully will improve with experience, but he's not ready to be starting yet.

If you're going to compare him to Hawkins then Hawkinge did more in 40 minutes against Bromley than Bloomfield did today.

Isn't he 18 and scored in his first full start last week ? Not saying he's first choice but certainly don't think he can be singled out.

A Torquay friend of mine whilst magnanimous thought they deserved something and he was right but we'll take that for sure. Not sure if pen was harsh until I see it again.

Nice to see Doe back and looked solid. As usual Robson barely put a foot wrong and agree with others on MoM.. And yes an off game from CW. Always nice to grind out a win when you ain't played well..

Is there something wrong with the pitch? A few of our players just slipped over today and it's happened in other games as well.
pitch got trampled on by 50 or so illegal ravers who were hiding from police from the factory behind the ground last Saturday night

Somehow we've managed to snag four points from this past week when in reality we should've only had one.

Agree with most of the above - especially with the comments that Bloomfield doesn't look ready yet. Still surprised Romain didn't get a start after nabbing that goal against Halifax a month ago. Really thought he'd be a player who'd thrive on the confidence of that yet he started the subsequent game against Hartlepool on the bench.

Pretty happy with the defence today. Doe was sold down the river twice in one phase of play but aside from that all looked well. Always impressed by Ling who is the definition of consistency. Although Cousins's kicking was off, have to hand it to him for that save at 0-0. Looked for all the world that the Torquay fella's strike from 30-yards-out was heading into the top corner.

Given that we've been below par for a while now it's still pleasing to see that we're second in the league - even if this league is utterly ridiculous. With players to come back I think there's reason to be optimistic, even if our performances of late don't quite fit with that outlook.

Either this league is tougher than it looks this year or just nobody is any good!

Dover are top for the sheer fact they managed to grab a late goal at home to Solihull, who we barely scraped a draw against ourselves. Then a smash and grab against bottom side at home.

One thing about it though is each game never seems to really reflect on the next. We didn't sound like scoring today but we could go to Aldershot on Tuesday, which looks a tough game and comfortably turn them over and I wouldn't be that surprised. Who'd have thought after we scored 5 against Bromley that we wouldn't even get 1 against Maidstone just 2 days later? Strange old game is football.

This game just goes to show that the gulf between the best and worst in this division really isn't that huge. You have Dagenham and Torquay, one challenging for promotion and the other winless all season, and all that separated us was a 91st minute penalty.

The good thing is that we're still picking up points when not at our best, a good sign obviously, but yesterday was quite poor. We gave the ball away cheaply and Ferrier really didn't look himself. If Torquay had a striker they'd have comfortably scored two, and that's even without mentioning the Cousins wondersave.

It was obvious that they couldn't handle set pieces so I don't understand why we didn't whip it in the box at every opportunity. Bloomfield didn't look ready so it was puzzling to start him when we had a confident and more experienced striker in Romain on the bench.

Good to see Doe back but when we're giving away that many chances against the league's worst team you have to admit that our defence is still a concern. But overall, dreadful game but thankfully we got the points, now we need to improve ahead of Tuesday.

Bloomfield isn't ready. When the ball was played into his feet, he was ok. But his runs in behind were poor. Numerous times, Howells was on the ball looking for movement in front of him which was non-existent. Thought Ferrier was off the pace as well as Whitely. As others have said, Robinson was excellent as were the two full backs.

Fejiri's penalty was actually poor. Just fortunate the keeper dived the wrong way as it was a comfortable height and nowhere near the corner.

A penalty that went straight in the goal was poor. Run that by me again Lee lol!

Probably follows the same logic as you calling other players poor penalty takers when theirs went straight in or at least forced very good saves.
