New signings? Renewed contracts? Released list?
I don't quite get the current obsession of resigning past players that are currently at a loose end. We've done so well previously by finding hungry players from the lower leagues who are desperate to make a name for themselves. Do former players like Femi, even Bingham, who have had that chance and haven't done much with it, really fit that description?
I liked both when they were here but I don't think they're what we need for the future.

Femi was Boreham Woods player of the year. He is a defender and they had a few decent forwards who could have easily won it.

Morgan ferrier is transfer listed with a few more decent boreham players leaving aswel but they'll want quite a bit for him, but if Benson goes I reckon we could do with signing another striker.

One of the local papers here has mentioned our name relating to left winger Dan Sparkes, who has recently turned down a new contract offer at Torquay.
They claim we were among a few clubs who took a good look towards the end of the season - though also admit they don't know whether there's definite interest now.
He signed for Torquay having played in Braintree's 3rd place finish in the 2015-16 season. He's had a decent campaign with Torquay and generally speaking their fans seem to be somewhat disappointed at losing him, with the general concensus being he likely finished 2nd in player of the season awards.
Part of me wonders if the links are to any club which is geographically close to his previous club Braintree, as there's also been some mention of interest from Orient. The player has said his departure was wanting to be closer to his family, he's from Stevenage but not actually sure whether his family actually live there now.
I'm sure my Dad would tell me a lot more, but from the bits and pieces I've heard during the season he's got a decent cross on him and top of their assists, chipping in a goal occasionally. Stilly indicated in his end of season video on the OS that we were able to target 'specialist' players and less so players who are just 'good' in various positions with the new investment. I think it's fair to say Sparkes probably fits this criteria, I'm told he's played the same position all season.
