One of those checkattrade trophy games got called off 15 minutes before kick off last night.

The players had finished their warm ups when the game got called off.

Bradford fans had travelled down to oxford for the game. Got to feel for them

The whole episode was a shambles. The lack of updates was the thing. Only positive spending the afternoon in the pub.
If they'd called it off on Friday you'd have complained that they did it too early and didn't give enough time to see if would get better.
It's not the clubs problem that people choose to travel along way.
Can you explain the last sentence please? It's not the clubs problem...so they can call games off whenever they want?

I found out the game was off whilst having lunch in a local cafe having travelled from Hockley, near Southend. I haven't got an issue with the game being called off or with every chance being given to get the game on, hence it being called off late. It's the lack of information that grates.

My lad was monitoring Bromley's twitter which was giving far more information - it said Daggers thought the game would go ahead but there would be an inspection when the referee arrived. Our twitter had an advert for West Ham youth game and a what happened on this day item. No mention of an inspection.

We just had about enough time to adopt plan B which was to get over to Hendon to watch Sudbury, our Ryman League team, play on the plastic pitch there. A bizarre game which was abandoned in the third minute of injury time because of a fracas!

It's a small point, but the Club didn't call the game off, the match referee did.

Whether the club could've done more to get the pitch inspected earlier (and kept supporters more informed) is up for debate.
