Statement from the Supporters Club Committee

After reading some of the comments on ‘the sieve’ we feel that some misapprehensions need to be addressed.

We are as frustrated as everyone else with the situation at the Club. We have also read all the paperwork put out and the worries and concerns but as we do not have any influence with the board and as a lot of what has been said by the supporters is not backed up there is really nothing we can do at this time. We are all aware of the distain shown by the Club towards our supporters. We have tried to talk with the club but as usual the supporters count for little. We chased the new chairman regarding the forum promised by Dave Bennett to the protesters at the members meeting. This was declined because it was short notice for the consortiums. We went back again saying we just wanted a fans forum as per normal. He replied that as John Still was a minor investor in the Tamplin bid it would put John in a difficult position. He did say one would be arranged at the earliest possible moment after the new consortium had taken over. We will continue to chase the club on this.

With regards to the merger with the members we were as unaware as you were about this. We have discussed this at our meetings and feel that until the new owners decide to speak to us about their intentions our hands are tied. We know this is frustrating. We do want to reassure you that once we know their plans you will be fully informed. We will discuss their recommendations, give you our opinion and as this would be a major decision which could change the whole standing of the supporters club we will ballot all of our members as to whether this would go ahead.

We as a committee represent all our members. Not all our members are of the same opinion of the people using the sieve or protesting. It is difficult to answer people on the sieve as they are anonymous by choice. That is their right but we cannot act on hearsay or rumours.

We can assure you that we are doing all we can to get everything resolved.

All the committee are available to speak with if you have any further concerns.

Interesting to see where all thisputs the manager's position post takeover if, indeed, he is a minority shareholder in the club
