Re: Catching Up

I'm struggling with the concept of spending money on flights and accommodation that could be used on the playing budget, when the manager gave an interview not long a go saying that the squad last season was small due to the budget available. For me, it doesn't quite add up. I don't see how training...

Re: Catching Up

I'm not sure what being positive, or what people said last year has got to do with anything. I was simply checking on some stuff that had happened while I was a away. Still, it's nice to see that there are still some people that seem to expect everyone to have the same views and not question anythin...

Catching Up

Right, so been away a few days and just checking I've not missed anything important. We've signed a 22 year old keeper who has played 11 games in the last two seasons. This presumably means that we'll be signing two more keepers as Burnett has said he wants two experienced keepers? Saunders has gone...

Re: The Released Players Thread

I'm sure the discussion are about whats on offer in regards to contract and what part he would have played in the squad. Be silly to offer contracts to players from the off and then telling him he would be number two again making him on a contract and unhappy. So to be clear, you've questioned why ...

Re: The Released Players Thread

He got given a limited chance and didn't look great, but is young enough to develop. I'm not surprised he's chosen to move on. With Lewington going, to not even be offered a contract is probably a bit of a kick in the teeth and not something that would make me feel particularly wanted. How do you k...

Re: The Released Players Thread - D'Ath Gone

I'm not sure being Torquays best player in that game is much of an endorsement.
As for Champions League experience, one meaningless game at the end of the group phase is hardly setting the world alight.

In two seasons he's only played about half the games.

Re: For fans 15 years ago

I did think Terry, but the hair line isn't right. That this group still meet up just shows what a great job Ted Hardly and Garry Hill did in building a team. It'd be nice to have that sort of group back again. They weren't just there to play football, they were also friends and they were normal ever...

Re: For fans 15 years ago

A couple of them look like they miss the exercise of playing regularly a little bit.

Not sure who the one on the left is, not Heffer though. Maybe Bruce?

Is the on at the back that isn't look part of the photo, or just someone that was at the bar???

Re: The Released Players Thread - Retained list in!

Nice to see that some are already making them out to be worse than they were. I'd be surprised if either had an issue getting another club given their ages. I'd imagine with what we pay that we'll struggle to find players in their positions that are any better. As only 3 have been mentioned, I guess...

Re: Ins and outs.

Wow, it feels a bit early for the thread naming pretty much every available player going that we shouldn't be touching with a pole and suggesting we sign them isn't it? Nile Ranger - sod whether we could afford him or not, he's clearly a basket case John-Lewis - a striker with a strike rate of a goa...

Re: Players contracts.

Who do you want to come in and replace him anyway and more to the point would they come here and be any better ? Weird, whenever I responded like that to the calls for Still to be sacked I got told it those that wanted him gone didn't need to come up with a potential replacement as well. Out of int...

Re: Gutless.

Just listened to the Managers interview and he was asked for his view's after Saturdays game. His reply " Disappointed that not more of our Supporters stayed behind after the game to applaud their Team, we have 57 points and are above teams we should not be, they are my thoughts". Must ad...

Re: Gutless.

I left before half time today. I've never left more than a couple of minutes early in 20 years. And that included the 9-0 against Hereford. The worst thing is that it was so predictable. They're fighting to stay up and were always going to have a go, just like Portsmouth did. With the number of play...

Re: Chesterfield

I took my son along yesterday for the first time in a probably a couple of seasons. I'm hoping he's still young enough that he'll not really remember it and I can convince him to come again some time. He wanted to leave after 80 minutes and I probably should have used it as an excuse to get out the...
