Re: Solihull Moors (A) squawks
Phipps seems to me quite a calming influence in the defence. And he's sort of an old school defender, he's not going to play it out from the back but is very solid; decent in the air, gets tackles and blocks in. The defence has been much better since he came in evidenced by goals conceded and possib...

Re: FA Cup Maidenhead v Daggers
Interesting on the scorer. All sources say Walker - I'll await the highlights!

Re: National League Salaries
I'm not sure about salaries. I think Wrexham may be paying some of their 'big name' players a few thousand a week. There are very few part time clubs in the National League and I suspect those squads may contain mainly full-time pros. I suppose of you have part-time players however few you can still...

Re: Boreham Wood (H) groanings
Yep, agree with what's been said. I think we just about deserved a point, but was thinking once we went one down we wouldn't score so credit to the manager for changing it with the impactful subs. I really like Mussa as a footballer, we've got no one like him who can control the ball, sell a dummy a...

Re: FA Cup Maidenhead v Daggers
Or Ipswich (again). Maidenhead is winnable obviously but losable too, may as well get a big team ,get the revenue/occasion even if it ends in inevitable defeat.stanton101 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 12:13 amDerby or Sheffield Wednesday at home.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 11:55 pmWho did you want. Re: Southend United (H) bleatings here
Hmm, almost difficult to assess that one really. We certainly created enough to win the game (e.g McCallum one on one, Walker seemed to have a great chance from where I was) but Southend probably will think they deserved something on the balance of play. On the plus side thought we defended generall...

Re: Barnet (H) consternations here please
I thought Justham was okay but the rest of them, jeez..the lad from Millwall did well at times and was the best of a bad bunch. Grant actually looked better attacking than defending. I suppose they are a new unit so I'll give them some benefit but Manny appears to have a talent bypass since coming b...

Re: Please post protestations about Bromley (H) here
Someone always manages to put a slightly negative spin on things Justham made one good save at 4-1 everything else was routine. We were much better than Bromley which is why we won by three..

Re: Bromley
My first game this season due to holidays and obviously no complaints. The lad Mussa can certainly play a bit and looks like exactly what we need. Like the OP I thought Ling played well. McCallum battled up front and I thought Vilhete had a good game causing them problems on the left. Morias speaks ...

Re: New Signing Pending
Yep agree with that Kevin, too much negativity about the lad already and he's barely through the door. Injury prone maybe but hopefully he can put that behind him, and the consensus is he's a decent player.

Re: Callum Reynolds
Would have had him as a squad player next year, but I don’t think it’s a massive loss for us. Shocked that Bromley have gone in for him to be honest, given how bad our defence was last year. Looking more and more likely now that Zouma is going to be a starter for us… Feels like a big gamble to take...

Re: Play Offs
I'd forgotten Grimsby went up via this route in 2016 when they beat FGR with the same manager, so that experience might tell.

I liked Wright, much improved and in my top 3. Not saying he was perfect but always gave it his best too. All the best to him.
