Re: Hartlepool

Anybody have any theory’s on why the Hartlepool defender who was last man and brought down Alex McQueen who was bearing down 1 on 1 with the keeper and the referee somehow only managed to give the Hartlepool player a yellow card? Has the last man/red card rule changed this season or was it just yet...

Re: Hartlepool

First game I’ve seen since Woking. Massive improvement. It does make we wonder why the likes of Phipps and Luque didn’t play in that first game though. It was a bit dull at times but we played some good stuff. They didn’t really offer much and the back four largely dealt with what they did have. Qui...

Re: Sub keeper

Strikes me that there really isn't much point having a "top" backup keeper at our level. its just a waste of a wage. Rather like the Robbo/Hogan dynamic, the second string isn't likely to get a game unless there is suspension or injury and if there is then you can hit the loan system most...

Re: Taylor out !!

The old what manager would you choose, response, it’s not down to us to choose it’s down to the board. Plenty of good managers in this level and who actually have knowledge of it. Watch what Dover do this season under Hess to see what a decent knowledgeable manager can do this season. Boreham Wood ...

Re: Woking Home

Agree with most of that Adrian. However, don’t understand the criticism of Manny. Thought he had a good game and Diarra was flattened by marking Quigley the whole game. All the stories about Quigley proved true. Slow, bad touch, no presence. If the owners don’t want to embraced by their promotion p...

Re: Woking Home

Probably the least inspiring opening game I think I’ve ever seen. Gave up through boredom with 10 minutes to go. Utterly confused by the idea that we need more goals from midfield so have no central midfield let trying to get anywhere near their area. Quite a few very average looking players in that...

Well that’s a relief .

Re: Friendlies

Surely raising your arm high in a penalty box and the ball hitting it, via off your body or not has always been a penalty, with VAR or not No. Until now it's always had to be deliberate. It is possible for your arm to be high and not deliberately handle the ball. Even with the new changes, it says ...

Re: Friendlies

These games will also give the players a chance to understand the new rules which came into force yesterday :ermm: New rules. What's changed daggersjeff There's a summary on the BBC website. It's mostly small changes that won't make much difference to anything as they relate to things that don't te...

Re: Harfield

Not a loss at all as far as I am concerned. Find it strange that he said no to us, as I don’t get who else would be calling his agent, but oh well. As already said, money saved that can be channelled into bigger and better. Why is it strange? He probably knows he'll be a squad player, but might hav...

Re: What do we want ?

I remember when we got promoted to league 1 telling my colleagues it was probably the worst thing that could happen as we would lose week in week out, get relegated and fans will get unrealistic expectations of the club, attendances would fall as a result and we’d end up in non-league. They thought...

Re: What do we want ?

It'd be nice to find some games enjoyable. If you took the League 2 Play Off final as mid-point, I'd reckon that I saw a much higher proportion of games that were enjoyable to watch before it than I have since. League 1 was ok, but the following seasons under Still and Burnett in League 2 were mostl...

Re: Play Offs

I’m not getting why we should be dismissive of teams who have a financial backer yet it’s alright we now have one ? We’ve all seen how shit the footy is without a backer. The bit that is being dismissed is that it would be an amazing achievement for a little club. It isn't because they've had someo...

Re: Daggers Thank You

The word 'cancer' may have been too strong .. but, Steve Thompson didn't think twice when he aimed that self same word towards a certain person/supporters club in a forum meeting, and refused to apologise for using it. Again, there was no need to refuse the SC to hold the SC player of the year awar...

Re: Barrow

Yesterday was the first time I've been to a game for a while, and I won't be rushing back based on that. It was so negative and so dull. It's says a lot that the only real highlight was the linesman getting flattened. 3-5-2/5-3-2 just does not work with the players we had out there. Nunn isn't a win...
