Re: official site - loan watch

I agree Mike, but surely Josh Scott and Brian Woodall really are surplus to requirements now - it is extremely unlikely they will ever be more than just back-up players. I would suggest trying to unload them both, and then getting a player with a lot of potential to come into the squad ..... we will...

Re: official site - loan watch

Dwight Gayle scored 42 in conf south and stayed all season at Bishops Stortford ..... and by the time he started playing for us, he only lasted a couple of months before he was off. And whilst we got a good deal financially, from a football point of view, and that is the only one that matters, it wa...

Re: "Football Clubs Banning Local Papers"

Have they never heard the phrase "don't bite the hand that feeds you"? It is a shame that the local paper in question just didn't then completely ignore writing anything about Port Vale in their paper. Many local fans would soon get upset, and if they asked the paper why, the paper could j...

Re: Hartlepool

Hartlepool 257 miles from my house! Morecambe 254, Plymouth 252. Furthest distance we have ever had to play a league game must be Carlisle at 312. And I am sure we played Gateshead in the Conf at 294, and were we in the Conf at the same time as Barrow at 275? For those of you as old as me, thank goo...

Re: Match Thread - Daggers 3-0 Romford

So Romford brought nearly double their usual home attendance to our place for the game! Are we now the "Manchester United" of Essex football ..... especially having wiped the floor with the two other so-called big boys (Southend and Col U) recently?

Re: Daggers article

"BARING in mind, he wants to be left in PIECE", can someone really make a living as a journalist if they cannot spell some of the simplest words in English. I know it seems like I am kicking a man when he is down, but I am genuinely interested ...... is basic spelling not a pre-requisite o...

Re: Daggers article

I have just read through this thread ..... it disgusts me. Clearly those people who were to blame for the demise of the old one are wasting no time in seeing this one goes the same way. As someone who has an incurable health condition I find the comments ridiculing another fans health issues both pi...

Re: Who's Who?

Yes, I thought you might, Suzanne! Anyway, having just trawled the particularly unpleasant "daggers article" thread, it looks like this forum will quickly go the way of the old.

Re: Who's Who?

I am from the old forum, and wish the new forum all the best ...... but I am naturally pessimistic and assume the trolls will soon drive me away. I am sure no-one is interested in my previous persona, but they could probably work it out easily enough if they really had a mind to.

Re: Shrimperama's view

Worst bit of cheating I saw was the Rochdale player who pretended he had been punched to the left of the halfway line in front of the sieve. But if you want to criticize our side, I have to say I wasn't impressed with the time-wasting - it may well have been understandable when you are hanging on ag...

Alex Ferguson.

I have not read his book, nor do I intend to, but there has been plenty in the press about what is in it. Why? Why, would he write such a thing? Now clearly the newspapers print the most provocative extracts, and put spin on it that may well not have been intended .... and also, I am sure he was put...

Re: Balls to the lot of you

Concord Rangers away would be an interesting afternoon by the "seaside" if they can get past Barnet. Interesting to see that it is quite possible that the small village of Nailsworth in Glos could have two teams in the First Round Proper - neither with the name of their village in the club...

Re: Man of the match text vote ...

Please, please, please, please, please will the club stop this embarrassing exercise. OK, not as awful as "music after a goal is scored" ( and not as bad as at Northampton where each substitution was "in conjunction with Bert's Plumbers", or whatever) but this MOTM text vote is a...
