And he was already planning it for personal reasons.Voice of reason wrote:As Dave himself says there is a conflict of interest in him being Chairman and part of a consortium competing to take over the club
It's the honourable thing to do.

Re: CONSORTIUM INCREASE OFFER TO £500,000
DD, I think there are a number of assumptions in what you have put there, which is kind of my point, but there you go. With regards to Thompson, would the new person in that position be on the Board?? I think that's an important question personally. That person will be accountable for day to day th...

Re: CONSORTIUM INCREASE OFFER TO £500,000
Not sure he was Mayor Mike (could be wrong) but he was a local councillor for some time. As someone else has said, you will know him from the hat (Councillor Dundee is how we refer to him). Seems like a good guy, as do all the others. I, like Mike, would still have some questions around the apparen...

Dover Match
Hopefully we can follow up with a decent win tomorrow, although looking at the highlights from their game with the Vegetarians they do look decent and have a very decent manager.
2-1 to us Hawkins and Doe. Attendance 1093 (Champions league on the TV) with 89 Dover.

Re: Chairmans reply to Consortium
I can see John's point to an extent. His job is to manage the team and anything that negatively affects the players is bad for him. I would hope that the lads get a full ovation for any performance like Saturday and the protest is a secondary thing. They got great support during and after the game,...

Re: Still threatens to leave
John Still thinks he has a God given right to do what he wants at the club which is my concern. The last full members meeting he went to even though he is not a member, he was asked to leave that meeting along with Tamplins family yet they were all allowed to stay. Next meeting I will be showing up ...

Re: Still threatens to leave
It's a case of all those involved will say or do anything to give those protesting a bad name. Take the very peaceful protest a few Monday's back at the club some jumped up Jag driver said we were scratching up his motor a load of nonsense. People being accused of being abusive towards Tamplins fam...

Re: Still threatens to leave
Some of the abuse towards the Solihull players was a disgrace but no mentions of that, double standards.

Re: Chairmans reply to Consortium
Mike the dagger- think you've completely misread what I've said. I didn't say Tamplin is the Essex Abramovich. I just used Abramovich as proof that someone's business history doesn't dictate what they will be like a club owner. Diggerthedog- Finally, someone has rumbled me. It is I- Dave the Plumbe...

Re: Chairmans reply to Consortium
Ok then fair enough- so he broke the rules and had a noise violation. It's his workers that made the noise not him. And breaking a noise violation doesn't mean he's a horrible person or a dodgy businessman. Nor does it make a case for him to be unfit to run a football club. Like I've said on anothe...
