Re: The Released Players Thread
Pearce could very well score 25 goals this season but I am not too upset about it. He'll be 29 before the season starts so has very little resale value, he's never played above the Conference South, and before last season he had about a 1 in 2.5 record at that level and below across his previous clu...

Re: The Released Players Thread
Surely a club in L1 or 2 will take a punt on him. His body is made of glass but if he does play he will score loads at those levels.

Re: Tavares to Barnet
On paper today, with only players under contract, our side is something like Justham Ling Eastman ? Vincent ? Hess Rees ? Hill ? Bench: Remy, Phipps, ?, ?, ?, ?, ? And that's counting Vincent as a left back. Even if Johnson, Striz, Lawless and Inih sign we are still 3 starters and 2 subs short as it...

Re: Southend under new transfer embargo
It is beyond me why the national league continue to tolerate them. They continually don't pay their bills yet we're apparently meant to congratulate them for fielding one of the best teams in the division. It makes a mockery of the league.

Re: North Sixth Group
I think Inih is perhaps a red herring here. As much as I think he is absolutely vital to our system, would we break the bank for him at 33? What if we could find a similar but younger player, perhaps for similar money? I think we have to look at the whole squad build to really understand how things ...

Re: Retained List
Page is unfortunately too much of a risk despite being a good player.
As for Hare, I don't think it makes sense to spend a chunk of your budget on 2 established right backs. Ling is clearly first choice, and then you need someone who can maybe play 2 or 3 positions or a younger player as cover.

Re: The Released Players Thread
I believe he bought a place in Hertford having previously been in St Albans. It's quicker to get to Hertford from Dagenham than Woking. I don't buy the moving closer to home thing.

Re: The Released Players Thread
He might find himself in a tricky situation. Contracted to a club we know are paying good money. Apparently doesn't want to leave the south east. Can't see Barnet or Aldershot taking him.
That leaves Southend with the Still connection. As a cheeky suggestion... could he end up at Hornchurch?

Re: Play Offs
Southend will likely throw money at it but otherwise there is absolutely nothing to worry about in that list. Great chance for playoffs if we have even a half decent season.

Yes, same Ibe. Has barely played in 4 years. He had a long time away from football with depression I believe.

Re: FA Cup - no replays
I suppose the lack of replays favours the bigger team, who should be fitter and have longer for their quality to win out. All those lower league sides hanging on for a draw will go away. So less revenue for small teams and less prestige too. It's a terrible decision.

Re: Points
We won the league on a Saturday and had to play Monday and Wednesday that week, losing both. To be fair at least we recovered to win 2 of our last 3. Chesterfield just seen to be losing every game against rubbish sides.

Re: Woking away
We're running on fumes by the looks of it. Hare is very much an emergency centre back, Effiong is not fully over his injury, then we lost Page, Dion and Ling too. Rees didn't really get in the game, Hilly scored a lovely goal but also not at his best. And despite all that we gave Woking a good game ...
