Re: Will Wright

Agree. I'm all for bringing players through the leagues but it needs balance. Orient had a good mix last season and won the league despite only having 4 or 5 standout players. When we won the conference before we had Arber, Uddin and Roberts. One thing I don't want us to do is sign a load of players...

Re: Will Wright

The best I can say for him is that he's young and he did ok at right back. If he's cover for that position it's probably ok although I doubt he'd leave a football league club to take a low wage and sit on the bench. It worries me that PT genuinely thinks this guy is good enough to start in a confere...

Re: Bad News

I'm sure our new signing will brighten the mood.

Re: Bad News

As much as I like Conor he's going to need to hit the ground running. Bonne had a reputation for working the back line for 90 minutes and I don't think Conor is that kind of player. He comes alive around the box when we have the ball, he prefers it into feet than chasing lost causes, he is not reall...

Re: Bad News

Thommo’s explanation makes perfect sense. I hope we have the replacement lined up though. Agree. Seems the option we took up was the only way of keeping him here for the rest of last season. He kept us up and hopefully we at least made a bit of a profit on him. We won’t find a better striker at thi...

Re: Bad News

It's classic Dagenham in that his signing was presented as a huge coup when in fact it was never going to be anything more than half a season. The club need to set the expectations of their customers. The public expectation was that he was our player. In reality he could just sail off to any club fo...

Re: Bad News

Great day for Orient. Sold a player for 200k and signed an arguably better goalscorer for a fraction of that. Shrewd business. Done the deals and had the replacement lined up. Wonder whether we have...

Re: Who would you like to see at Dagenham next season?

Agreed. Maybe he wasn't anticipating the kind of money that would be chucked around this summer. I'm glad we aren't trying to follow suit. Even smaller clubs are spending and we could see a few more Ebbsfleet or Gateshead situations. Also worth noting that spending doesn't guarantee anything. Orient...

Re: Who would you like to see at Dagenham next season?

Personally think Bromley seem to be going way over their usual spend in an unwise manner. Bingham is a huge risk. If he plays 35 games he'll be their player of the season but it's far more likely he spends months on the sideline claiming a big wage. Edit: he's played about 170 league matches in 11 y...

Re: New Signing

Good potential but he's at the age now where potential needs to be delivered on consistently over a whole season. Let's hope he can do it. We need width and good delivery.

Re: New Signing

Almost certainly. The point being that we must have made it worth his while to hang around, so he isn't going anywhere for at least another year.

Re: New Signing

Justham could probably have taken a free transfer into the league and taken a hefty signing on fee as there was no transfer fee due. I'd be very surprised if we sold him during the season unless the bid was ludicrous, which never happens for a goalkeeper.

Re: Daggers Retained List

I understand having an element of continuity. But if we're taking the promotion ambition seriously I think we're already making some odd moves. We probably need a good core squad of maximum 20 but we now already have 12 assuming everyone signs, and that 12 includes at least 4 who probably aren't goo...

Re: Daggers Retained List

Completely agree. The thought of a playoff club like Wrexham or Solihull looking to sign Will Wright is laughable. What are we trying to do here.
