Re: The thoughts of DJB....
I agree with virtually everything DJB says Who knows how the members will vote but quite a few contributors to the forum seem to have made up their mind that Mr T should be backed to be 3rd time lucky in his attempts to take over a football club despite numerous indicators that he may in fact not be...

Re: New poll on ownership
I've tried reading this thread and it seems very polarised. I don't know any of the parties / personalities involved but I have visions of what happened at Hornchurch a decade ago when someone pulled the glass out of the windows and the team which had comfortably been top for weeks and weeks on end...

Re: New poll on ownership
VOR - I am not sure that's right. I had thought it was 75%, but there's nothing in the company's articles of association that requires a special resolution, nor in the companies act so far as I know, in which case 50% will do it for either side. Your right it's majority vote as per letter recieved ...

Re: New poll on ownership
It's important to remember that 75% of the members present at an EGM will have to vote in favour of a change in the club's constitution for any change to take place The full details of the proposed change has to be circulated personally to each eligible member well in advance of the meeting A very h...

Re: Glenn Tamplin Interview
I love the references and comparisons in here - "successful businessman", comparing him to very successful men such as Dave Whelan etc. This is a man that has overseen the dissolution of at least three companies carrying a large amount of debt, and is currently the director of only one ac...

Re: Ponderings
I haven’t ever posted on this Forum – although I was a regular on the Steve McG’s – but feel moved to do so here by the current situation at the club. Now living away from London it’s difficult to get to many matches but I retain my season ticket. For those who don’t know me, I have supported the c...

Re: Glenn Tamplin Interview
Must say I'm a little surprised that a number of contributors have been completely swayed by this interview Mr T comes across as a reasonable bloke but then people who turn out to be rogues often give that impression at first Virtually all businessmen with a dodgy financial history blame others but ...

Re: Glenn Tamplin Interview
Difficult to keep up with all the changes in Mr T's proposition
The initial offer was certainly a non starter but who knows if this latest one will be what eventually goes before the members
It still seems to be a work in progress

Re: Dave Bennett Resigns
As Dave himself says there is a conflict of interest in him being Chairman and part of a consortium competing to take over the club
It's the honourable thing to do.

Re: CONSORTIUM INCREASE OFFER TO £500,000
Due diligence regarding financial history should be carried out on anyone wanting to become a major shareholder. "Dave (Bennett) told us that due diligence had been pursued and a statement of his net worth produced by a Chartered Accountant." I would accept he may have a high net worth bu...

Re: CONSORTIUM INCREASE OFFER TO £500,000
I don't disagree with that Voice of Reason, but we don't the ins and outs of all the investors on the other do we?? Just because we know them through a smiley face in the Top Bar having a beer doesn't mean we know all their ideas and believes and histories?? I know Wally and Bill as smiley faces in...

Re: CONSORTIUM INCREASE OFFER TO £500,000
Not sure he was Mayor Mike (could be wrong) but he was a local councillor for some time. As someone else has said, you will know him from the hat (Councillor Dundee is how we refer to him). Seems like a good guy, as do all the others. I, like Mike, would still have some questions around the apparen...

Re: Investment Proposals
I don't think enough people know all the facts about the most notorious of Mr Tamplin's bankruptcies When the Receiver came in he initially thought that a large quantity of plant and equipment including some very expensive cars were part of the assets he could sell to satisfy at least past of what w...

Re: Dave Bennett interview
Good interview Mike, and well done on presenting all sides in this story; which is something the club has failed to do. But someone here is not telling the truth, the version of events from the Chairman differs from the Easts, and both seem to differ from Steve Thompson's interview on Time where he...
