Re: Fixtures out

Darrell is quite right. The ghurkas are good lads and wouldn't cause any trouble. Mind you I wouldn't want to cross them. Some of them were the security boys on an office I worked at in Holborn and they couldn't have been more helpful - always called me "sir" which they didn't need to do. Very loyal...

Re: Season ticket Poll

Well I suppose a football ground is private property and if the owners don't like a particular T shirt they could refuse admission to the person wearing it. My view is that Mr Hopkin has taken note of the demographic make up of his trading area when taking his stand against apparently racist flags (...

Re: Getting More Local Daggers Through The Turnstyles

Pricing is an interesting one. Maybe it wouldn't make any difference but my lad tells me at Millwall under 16s pay £49; 16 - 18 £99. Concessions - £149 include a young adult rate - 18-24 - which catches students, apprentices etc and over 60s. Adults pay £289. That's for championship football. I gues...

Re: Hopkins reasoning gone...

Going back to the findings of the club's and the members' investigations are that Mr Simpson did pass on this alleged fake e mail it makes Mr Hopkin's decision to pull out more understandable in retrospect, not less, in my view. Not only were a faction of the support apparently trying to have the ma...

Re: Factions

I suppose option 5 is a more pessimistic/realistic view of the situation (take your pick). I must say all this nonsense with flags, e mails and he said this and she said that is totally pointless. I tried explaining it all to my mate from Yorkshire and he was totally bewildered. It actually makes Mr...

Re: Getting More Local Daggers Through The Turnstyles

Patrick is bang on concerning under 18s who these days have to be in education or training. They ought to be treated as children price wise. In addition The concessions price ought to apply to under 24s who are more likely to be students or not eligible for the adult minimum wage. Hockley Dagger jun...

Re: The Silence

I was under the impression that Mr Tamplin's bid was rejected by the members, who failed to vote in favour of it by a sufficient majority? That followed revelations of certain court cases and a campaign against him by certain supporters. So a little difficult to lay that solely at the door of Mr Tho...

Re: Ideas for Save the Daggers

I'm not an expert in company law but one thing the directors of any company have to be very careful about is trading whilst insolvent. If they knowingly do they can become personally liable for any debts that accrue once the point of insolvency is reached. So they may be very concerned about selling...

Re: Tamplin Watch

Mr Tamplin's interview on BBC Essex after Billericay won the senior cup the other night was a joy. After using the "s" word live on air he stated that various threats to his family, including death threats, had made him reconsider his investment of £30k per week but he was carrying on and targeting ...

Re: Season Ticket Prices...

Quite a few clubs offer discounted match tickets to season ticket holders of other clubs. I follow Bradford Park Avenue on twitter (a mate is a fan) and they offered entry for a fiver to all sports club season ticket holders for a recent fixture (rugby league and union as well as football clubs). I ...

Re: A Game Of Headers & Volleys Ep.27

Rampant Duke's point 2 was the conclusion that I reached. Mr Hopkin had gone lukewarm on the idea of bankrolling the club and this offered him a way out without attracting adverse publicity, which would damage his business. Ironic that Mr Tamplin's barrage of publicity rolls on (just up the road fro...

Re: Season Ticket Prices...

Mind you, even when we were playing really well in Autumn 2016 the gates didn't really pick up. I don't live in the area but my observation is that most of the people who live locally aren't interested. Maybe that's got something to do with the way that the population has changed and moved over the ...

Re: Full membership

Alan makes a good point. Me and my old mate Sussex Dagger were talking about his last year, before all the Tamplin/Hopkin furore, were keen to investigate joining but didn't know what the benefits are. I assume you get to use the car park on match days and will get voting rights, now diluted to 24% ...
