Re: My Annual Shameless Plug

While the football might be painful at the moment (although I am sure it will improve) the cricket season still has some legs in it. So why not get along to Upminster Park on 2nd September for the annual Upminster v Essex CCC Benefit Match, in aid of the Essex Cricket Foundation. Details below (on o...

My Annual Shameless Plug

Morning All, I know the football season is near, and the World Cup is very much still taking place, but the cricket season is also still going!!! Once again this season, Upminster CC will be taking on an Essex CCC XI in aid of the Essex Cricket Foundation. This Year the game will take place at Upmin...

Re: And the Daggers new manager is...

Considering the situation this is an astounding appointment!!! Anyone not pleased needs their head testing. Peter Taylor has a mixed record in club management. Good spells at Leicester and Brighton and Hull, mixed spells at other clubs (such as Southend). But the bloke was one of the most successful...

Re: John Still?

Always thought Kinnear would manage us at some time with his connections in the area and his non league pedigree.

The only issue at the moment with him, and potentially someone like Devonshire, is whether a full time manager is needed at this stage??

Re: John Still?

Would be surprised if there wasn't a very long list of people wanting it. Nobody has not been paid, the club is still highly though of in football circles for our level, and I would argue it is still the biggest non league club in Essex/East London. I would think there will be lots of progressive fo...

Re: Any news ??

Lets be honest, Still has been rolling out the same clichés for years. He is absolutely the Harry Redknapp of the lower leagues. "always loved this club" "will be my last job in football" blah blah blah blah same old same old. The bloke is a great manager, done great things for this club, helped all...

Re: Who is still a dagger ?

I will still be in, along with my eldest. I miss a few games these days, but we both still have our STs in the Carling and intend to have them again for 18/19. I am pretty certain the other two people we go with will also be in as well.

Re: Tonights meeting

"We have a club still but nothing left in it" DtD, I am a bit confused by what you mean by this if I am honest?? What is a club?? You could argue it is two things. You could argue it is people and supporters and the intangible things that go with that. If people believe that is the case then that is...

Re: Tonights meeting

Strikes me some people went along hoping or awaited news hoping to hear two people had gone, rather than being concerned about the way forward?? I am not sure why people are totally fed up with this?? People wanted a club for next season?? We have one. People hoped it might be in the Conference?? We...

Re: Shameless Plug

I will do one of these tonight, looks like good idea. Goresbrook have done amazing things as a club in last 20 odd years and produced a number of good players. Always good blokes to play against and always play the game in the right spirit, I would urge any local cricket fans to support this!! Their...

Re: Player of the season.

Interesting Jam as I have seen 25 odd games this Year and off top of head can't remember Howells being at fault directly for any goals.

Meanwhile you have gone for someone directly at fault for the last goal we conceded ironically.

Everyone sees things differently I guess.
